New York's most Fashionable neighborhood. / A area mais Chic de New York

For who thought that 5th Avenue is the New York's most fashionable neighborhood is completely wrong. Meatpacking District is the coolest place I've ever seen in New York City. 

Last weekend I went to NY with my mother for the holiday, and guess what? It was the first time I've been to this wonderful neighborhood which I loved. I've been to New York a couple times before and I've to say that it was one of the best times I've spent there. 

My uncle is getting married in a couple weeks and he hadn't decided yet what he would wear for his wedding, and yeahhh, we went shopping! (and I love shopping). So, we went to this amazing area and I felt in love with there. 

The Meatpacking District (it owes its name to the meat distribution companies that once dominated the area), not so long ago, used to be one of the worse places in NY. It was known as a center for drug dealing and prostitution, but at the beginning in the late 1990s it went through a transformation and became the most fashionable and coolest place in New York City. 

There're so many stylish boutiques there such as Alexander McQueen (which is gorgeous),Christian Louboutin, Stella McCartney, Tory Burch, Diane von Furstenberg, Hugo Boss, Moschino, and of course the Apple Store... And representing the Brazilian Fashion; Carlos Miele. If you're looking for the best Bars, Restaurants and Night Clubs, Meatpacking District is the perfect place. You can also find some art galleries, high-end furniture stores, and fabulously expensive hairdressers. 

I was fascinated by the people's style there. Everybody was amazing. 

Now every time I go to NYC I've to go there. 

And don't be crazy if you see some celebrities walking around, cause they are always there!

Para quem pensava que a 5ª Avenida era o lugar mais chic de Nova York, esta completamente enganado. Meatpacking District e o melhor lugar que eu ja vi em Nova York.

No fim de semana passado eu fui para NY passar o feriado com a minha mae , e adivinhem? Foi a primeira vez que eu fui a esse lugar incrivel e eu fiquei encantado. Eu ja tinha ido a Nova York algumas vezes antes, mas  eu tenho que confessar que essa foi uma das melhores vezes que estive la.

Bom, meu tio vai se casar em algumas semanas e ele ainda nao tinha decidido o que usar usar no seu casamento, e entao fomos as compras! (coisa que eu amo fazer ne). Foi ai que fomos a esse lugar incrivel pelo qual eu me apaixonei.

O Meatpacking District (que tem esse por causa das empresas de distribuição de carne que ja dominaram a area), ja foi um dos piores lugares em NY. Era conhecido como um centro de tráfico de drogas e prostituicao, mas no inicio na decada de 1990 passou por uma transformacao e se tornou o lugar mais elegante e mais legal de Nova York.

La voce pode encontrar muitas boutiques chiquerrimas  como Alexander McQueen (que e incrivel), Christian Louboutin, Stella McCartney, Tory Burch, Diane Von Furstenberg, Hugo Boss, Moschino, e nao podia deixar de ter, a loja da Apple ... E representando a moda brasileira, Carlos Miele. Mas se você esta procurando os melhores bares, restaurantes e casas noturnas, Meatpacking District tambem e o lugar perfeito. Você tambem pode encontrar algumas galerias de arte, lojas de moveis de alto padrao e saloes de beleza carissimos.

Fiquei fascinado pelo estilo das pessoas lá. Todo mundo era um maximo.

Agora toda vez que voltar em NY eu serei obrigado a voltar la.

Ahh,e nao fique louco se voce ver algumas celebridades andando na rua, porque eles estao sempre la!

Hi guys, how are you?

After waiting for so long, I definitely created my blog. I always wanted to create one, but I had the biggest question in my mind:

WHICH NAME SHOULD I CHOSE FOR MY BLOG?

For so long, I tried to come up with new ideas, but none of those were what I really wanted. I didn't want to chose any name, I wanted meaning, creativity, I wanted a name which could express my personality, who I am. 

So, I hadn't decided my blog's name yet, when I was first started reading my new book: Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty. 

McQueen is one my favorite designers, he is such an inspiration for everybody in the Fashion Industry, and I admire him not only as a designer, but as a person as well. 

I'll quote the passage from the book which inspired me to chose the name. 

"For McQueen, the Sublime was the strongest of passions, as it contained the potential for exaltation and transcendence beyond the commonplace. The concept of the Sublime underlies the premise of the exhibition Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, which explores McQueen's profound engagement with Romanticism...for McQueen, the Sublime provided a connection between Romanticism and Postmodernism..." 

As soon as I found the ideal name I decided to research more about the meaning and the concept of the Sublime and It's exactly what I was looking for. It's simple, but at the same time strong, and the most important; it express myself. 

Now I'll start sharing my ideas with you guys, about fashion, lifestyle, culture, art, music, and everything that would be interesting to talk about. 

To inaugurate my blog, I'll post some pictures from the book; Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty.

For those who want to know more about McQueen, this book is published in conjunction with the exhibition "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty," on the view at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, May 4 - July 31, 2011.

Ei meus queridos e queridas, tudo bom?

Depois de muito tempo, eu definitivamente criei meu blog. Eu sempre quis criar um blog, mas eu tamebm sempre tive a maior de todas as perguntas em minha mente.

QUAL NOME DEVO ESCOLHER PRO MEU BLOG?

Por muito tempo, eu tentei buscar novas ideias, mas nenhuma delas eram exatamente aquilo que eu queria. Eu nao queria um nome qualquer, mas sim algo com um significado interessante, criatividade, um nome que pudesse expressar minha personalidade. 

Bom, eu nao tinha decidido o nome do blog ainda, quando eu comecei a ler meu novo livro; Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty. (Beleza Selvagem)

McQueen e um dos meus designers favoritos, ele e uma grande inspiracao pra todo mundo na industria Fashion, e minha admiracao por ele vai alem da moda, eu o admiro como pessoa tambem. 

Eu vou citar aqui a traducao do trecho do livro que me inspirou na escolha do nome do blog. 

"Para McQueen, o Sublime era o que havia de mais forte nas paixoes, pois continha a possibilidade de exaltacao e de transcendencia que ia além do comum. O conceito do Sublime esta subjacente a premissa da exposição Alexander McQueen: Beleza Selvagem, que explora o envolvimento profundo de McQueen com o romantismo ... para McQueen, o Sublime proporciona uma ligacao entre o Romantismo e o Pos-modernismo... "

Assim que eu achei o nome ideal, eu comecei a pesquisar mais sobre seu conceito e significado e era exatamente aquilo que eu estava procurando. Um nome simples, mas ao mesmo tempo forte, e o mais importante; expressa quem eu sou. 

A partir de agora, eu vou comecar a dividir com voces minhas ideias sobre moda, estilo de vida, musica, arte, cultura e tudo aquilo que eu achar interessante. 

E para inaugurar meu blog, vou postar aqui algumas fotos do livro Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty. E para aqueles que queiram saber mais a respeito dele, o livro foi publicado em conjunto com a exposicao Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, no Museu Metropolitano de Arte de Nova Iorque, do dia 4 de Maio a 31 de Julho de 2011.

Eu vou com certeza e voces?
